8 months old

Weight: 14 pounds

Height: I'm not really sure, but if it counts for anything... Lainey can reach the floor in her jumperoo now! HaHa!! Up until about a week ago, we had to keep a pillow under there.  (It started out with having a box under her feet!!)

Milestones: I guess that whole nothing under our feet when we jump is a milestone, right? Seems like every day Lainey learns something new.  Our most recent milestone is that over the weekend, we installed the convertible car seat in my car! We opted for a Recaro seat, and I am loving it! Stay tuned for pictures and my 2-cents about the seat. Lainey is also quite the roller these days!

Likes: music, dancing around with Mommy to Disney tunes, sitting up like a big girl, people - Lainey LOVES to "talk" to people when we go out, my doggie bros, and chewing on my hands and feet.

Eating Habits: Such a great eater! Fruits, veggies, teething biscuits? It doesn't matter! She tries it all. As much as I would love to make Lainey's food myself, that kind of time is hard for me to find ... yes, yes I know. I could be making food right now instead of writing a blog post, but whatevs. Lainey generally eats all organic foods, and we find the food pouches very convenient.  My only "complaint" with them is that there aren't alot of plain options - usually everything is in some kind of mix. But that's okay, there are other brands out there and not everything has to come in a squeeze pouch.

Best Moment Recently: Every day at {the nuthouse} is turning into "best moments." As corny as it seems, things are getting really fun and I am loving watching my little girl grow and develop her own personality.

Momma thoughtsOne week ago, a friend of mine gave birth to the newest member of the Preemie Princess Club.  Alexis Ruth was born 9 weeks early and is currently staying in the NICU.  I told Lainey the other night, "You have to say a special prayer for baby Lexi so that God keeps her safe and lets her grow big like you." Lainey looked up at me and smiled.  I felt in my gut that she knew what I was saying to her and her smile was a reply saying, "I know, Mommy. I will. Everything is going to be okay."  Since then, I have been keeping tabs on Lexi via facebook. And everyday when I see the pictures, I can't help but think about how far we have come and how much things have changed in {the nuthouse} since Lainey was born...8 months old already?! It seems just yesterday, we were in the same seats as Lexi's parents - watching our daughter from the outside of her isolette and only getting brief cuddles with a tiny girl adorned with a fancy bow her on her tiny hat.

From 4 pounds to 14, every day, I am amazed by you, little one.  While I am loving these "baby days" I am still looking forward to the fun that is still to come.

xoxo,
Linda
