Lainey had her 2 year check up on Monday. Everything went well... she is healthy and wonderful!
We got the clear to switch to 2% milk (another 2!) and was told that she can stay on whole milk if we want her to, since she is still a peanut. But Sam's Club sells 2% organic milk for a significant savings over the grocery so my wallet says to go with it.
On to the important stuff...
How big is this preemie princess?!
She is 22 pounds and 32 inches tall! And no, I am not making that up for the sake of this post's theme. While she is still on the low end of the charts, she continues to grow so her doctor is not concerned. The bigger news is that she has finally made it ON the growth chart!! For the last 2 years, she always been in the less than 3% area for her weight. Which is actually, a nice way of saying she isn't on the charts yet. But now, she is in the 5-10 percentile for weight and 10-25 percentile for height. {Heights has always hovered around that mark, though.} The line on her chart just keeps going up and up!

Hanging with her "cousins"

Dancing
Things she eats:
Pretty much anything... but here's a rundown of her typical menu --
Breakfast: Mini muffies and greek yogurt
Lunch: Whatever school has on the menu
Snacks: Gummies, pouches, goldfish, animal crackers, applesauce or a fruit cup
Dinner: Dinner is usually a meal eaten twice for her... usually, the first course is a toddler-specific something like chicken nuggets, noodles, etc. This is because when Lainey gets home from school, she's hungry, so I feed her. But then by the time we eat our dinner, she wants a little more to eat. So, then, she eats a little of whatever we are having.
The birthday circus went wonderfully! Sno cones, fresh popcorn and Petunia the Clown were all big hits. And of course, the pool makes every party just that much more fun! I will get a post together on it for ya'll some time in the next week or so!
We also did Lainey's 2-year photos with the lovely Caiti from Pyle Photography on Monday! I will get some of those up here soon too asap!! There's a few sneaks on their facebook page. And I will do a rundown of props and stuff for both the party and the photo shoot!
So much to get posted!! At least I know I have a couple ideas to get down!
For now, I will leave ya'll with a birthday giggle that will surely go down in the birthday stories for life!
Every year, Grandma Shelton calls Johnson's very early in the year to get everyone's birthdays on their calendar. Well apparently, there must have been some static on the line when she called...
But no worries... Daddy can fix anything!
